Loofah Sponge

These loofahs were grown right in my back yard! I fell in love the first time I saw a video of someone growing them so that season I made a 34 foot by 34 foot loofah garden in my back yard, planting over 3 dozen plants over 5 rows. Each plant can vine up to 30 feet so we used fences and garden stakes to let them vine. Ohio is a short growing season for loofahs, so while I picked 120 of them before the first hard frost (I would cover them if the temps were below 50, though!) I only got about half as many usable loofahs in varying sizes. They're super fun to grow and I love the way they feel when used with handcrafted soap! I will eventually offer soaps with loofah chunks in them as well.

**Due to the nature of loofahs there will be variance in color and there may be some spots that are darker or even a spot here or there that has been cut away. They are nature's washcloth, they won't be perfect but they will feel wonderful on your skin and you don't have to be concerned about the waste of other body poofs or washing tools!

Let hang to air dry between uses! These can grow bacteria very easily if not dried quickly/thoroughly. You can soak loofahs to clean them - google can give you the best instructions on how to do so.
